The work of award winners Abdulhamid Kircher and Pacifico Silano will be showcased at the 10th Edition of the Biennial of Visual Arts Images Vevey, from 5 to 27 September.
Kircher continues his work on masculinity, drawing inspiration from the complex emotional bonds that unite members of his paternal lineage. The artist examines the demonstrations of tenderness and fraternity in a singular environment: oil wrestling in Turkey. He documents the world in which the wrestlers live, revealing signs of affection and moments of vulnerability. The installation bears witness to a deep bond between men fostered by a centuries-old tradition.
Drawing on a deeply personal narrative that interweaves queer identity, family memory, and the legacy of the AIDS crisis, Silano proposes reconstructing part of his parents’ former adult store as an immersive installation. This moving tribute to his late uncle and his mother explores themes of loss, sexuality, and resilience, reframing a stigmatised space as one of safety and remembrance.`
The installations To Be Held By The Earth and Undercover Pleasures are on display at the Musée Jenisch in Vevey alongside the other winning projects of the Grand Prix Images Vevey 2025/2026.
