Publishing Assistant

Loose Joints is seeking a highly organised and proactive Publishing Assistant who will play an integral part in our company. They will be a key member of the team, ensuring all the dots are joined up to enable the smooth running of the studio.

 

The Publishing Assistant position requires a detail-oriented, tactful individual with strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.

 

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our publishing house's administrative functions, while also providing valuable support across studio, marketing activities and office upkeep.

 

They will have the opportunity to work closely alongside some of the most exciting artists working today, as well as editors and journalists at the forefront of their fields. This is a CDI part-time position (4 days a week) based in our Marseille office.




About you:
• Excellent English and French, both written and verbal, are required, ideally fully bilingual. Loose Joints operates and communicates as a business primarily in English internally and externally.
• At least 2/3 years of experience in a similar role in a professional, deadline-oriented studio environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and telephone manner.
• Highly organised, with an eye for details and the ability to multitask and prioritise. You have the ability to handle multiple responsibilities with changing priorities and deadlines, and to think tasks through with clarity, reporting back on outcomes and considering implications across the team.
• Outgoing and driven work ethic with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You exhibit and demonstrate initiative and have a problem-solving attitude.
• Basic financial literacy with the ability to understand budgets and liaise with our French accountants on expense filing.
• Comfortable with technology and have a strong proficiency in office software, such as Excel or Google Suite.
• You have a broad interest in the arts and media and strong knowledge of the publishing industry and contemporary photography.


About the role:
• Based in Marseille. Loose Joints cannot support or assist with visa application processes.
• CDI part-time contract, 4 days per week.
• Salary: based on experience and in line with levels 4 to 6 of the Convention Collective Nationale Librairie which is yearly €21,500 to €23,500 brut pro rata.
