The Last Book is the final publication ever printed at die Keure, Bruges, marking the end of 80 years of activity.

In September 2025, one of our most trusted printing partners, die Keure, ceased operations after 80 years of activity. As the photobook world faces mounting production pressures, we wanted to pay tribute to one of Europe’s leading offset printers, who were responsible for dozens of Loose Joints titles.

Printing is a hidden industry — its ingenuity and craft are largely invisible yet indispensable to how photography circulates in book form. At our final session in Bruges, Thomas Prior and Daniel Arnold photographed the presses, the factory floor, and the process behind the printing of their own books (Slip Me the Master Key and You Are What You Do). Their images, gathered into a 32-page unbound booklet, are both document and memorial. These sheets were the very last project to run through die Keure’s machines before they were switched off for good on Friday 29 August 2025.

Printed in a strictly limited edition, The Last Book is available exclusively through Loose Joints at bookfairs and in a small online drop of 100 copies. The remaining copies will be given to die Keure’s staff, collaborators and clients.
